As part of my experiment of living for 30 days on $30 of food, I've been foraging for dandelions. They're free, they're nutritious, but what do you do with them? I'll teach you in this video.

  • very informative. I very much enjoyed this, because you actually seem to know what your talking about. My yard gets tons of dandelions, and ive wanted to try this with my family (who are on a diabetic friendly diet) My rabbits might be mad at me watching me take their fresh greens though :P

  • When you eat dandelions is how. Early, eat the greens raw. Later, when the buds are way down there, steam, and butter the buds! Bliss. Later, when they flower, dip the flowers in egg, then in flour, and sizzle,Then and later, I tear the greens off the centre stem (reputed to remove warts), and keep on steaming them, over rice, barley, potatoes, the last ten minutes or so. Fun with yogurt and hot sauce.

  • I eat dandelion greens several times per week. As you said, they're high in vitamins A and C. They also have a lot of calcium, and they're a great liver and digestive tonic. Americans don't get enough bitter herbs in their diets. Eating for a dollar a day is difficult, but entirely doable. I'm a 200 pound man who needs 3000 calories each day, and I lived off an estimated $2 per day for a few months several years ago - rice, beans, wild greens, blackberries, canned tuna and wild turkey.

  • make up is way over rated.

  • I eat the after flowering all the time they are bitter but you get used to it , I don`t cook them at all (that destroys most of the goodness)

Chuck them in a blender with lemon juice,an orange, some spinach, what ever to sweeten it up some home and ice good stuf for my abused liver

  • Dandelion greens and roots are good for the liver and a key component in biodynamic organic farming.Dandelion coffee is pretty amazing, too!

  • Where's her makeup? That is the silleist thing I've ever heard....I like that I can see her naturally beautiful skin.
