hello im big into robots if you look at my work you can see that. i have a question. . .
ive been able to figure out on my own how to rig a robot but there is one thing i cant seem to accomplish, its the part where yer robots head rotates on sprockets and gears. can you just point me in the right direction of making this happen?
i love the song too. . . Mad Izsms, thats a killer song.
thanks,

i assume, your refering to the numerous spinning circles
the idea is pretty close to a ''globe'' model - after that, i just linked all the object rotations together with expressions - lemme know if u need help with that
victimofcool 3 years ago
yeah im not sure how to link the rotate to be relative. . . any help would be good. . . thnx again. . .

i rigged it up in XSI, not sure what your using....anyways....in XSI, u open the kinematic property menu...'k' something i think, right click on the keyframe box....set expression.....what you enter is gonna look something like this
model.object.kine.rotx
for example
Robot.HeadControl.kine.rotx
where robot is the model null...and and head control is whatever you want to link it's rotation to
i can't remember how to do this in Maya...probally even easier with the nodes and all
