Upper arms vertical(elbows down) wrists straight: In proper top position curl hands are not near shoulders. As such, it provides good resistance. Elbows coming forward &/or wrists bending brings hands closer to shoulders, & gives the biceps low-or-no resistance. it's a resting position. Squeezing the biceps at this position is a volitional isometric contraction. It has nothing to do with the weight being used, & is generally a waste of time. This clip shows all of these breaks in form.
This exercise is being done with too light a weight and for way too long. And on top of that he's resting at the top and bottom positions-Hardly "Arthur Jones" style.
@lankatank ..and I will also agree with you that if you are going to isolate biceps, this would be the way to do it. ;) Though I really do enjoy watching the hip thrusts and back hyperextensions that come with some fool flopping and bouncing his way through a set with weight thats way too heavy for them :)
@lankatank Slow is more difficult so yes I agree with you I can do only do 3 good reps with 145 pounds but when with around 100 pounds it gets very hard past 10 reps espaicly if it's slow

Picture perfect form, but the set really shouldn't last much longer than 45-60 sec IMO

@bloodOFaViking anyone critical of this set has never tried it...

@25inchgun That's because you couldn't do it that slow. I can only do 10 reps doing a 25lb curl that slow.
