This is my first attempt at a Soundtracks Tsunami decoder. A couple of notes, the "buzz in the background is NOT the decoder. I have no idea what it is, maybe my crappy camcorder. I see now, I should have covered the red LED indicator on the board!!!!! This is the board replacement version for the Athearn Genesis models. I like the nice easy install. All in all, I am pleased.

  • Great sound, and even better layout.

You mention the board replacement for Athearn Genesis locos. I'm assuming this is the TSU-GN1000?

I'd like to replace my Athearn Genesis F3s factory sound (MRC) with Tsunami sound.

Did your F7s come with factory sound and thus included a speaker? And if not what speaker did you use for these sound conversions?

  • @SouthwestChief

Thanks, Yes I used the TSU-GN1000. A few of the F7's I have did originally come with MRC and some were non-sound units. Either way I used a 27mm round High Bass Speaker. It will fit in the same place as the original and gives really nice sound with some bass.

  • Who made the GP9 in the back? Did that have sound in it too?

  • The GP9 is a P2K that I stripped, added details and repainted in SP Bloody Nose. This one does not have sound but the current one I am working on will have a Tsunami.

  • What great sounds and a fabulous layout.

You've got some excellent skills. It was a pleasure to watch.

    Thanks

  • I am getting the Standard DC Genesis Black Widow F7A #6277. I plan to add the TSU-GN1000 as well. Who makes the speaker you mentioned? (The 27 mm round High Bass Speaker)

  • I enjoyed seeing two F7's in an AA configuration. This was very common to me. The Ice Breakers on the two units were typical of the F7's but not common on models. Nice touch. Wish the consist had been longer. Anyway, nice layout and diesel-rolling stock. Add some more rolling stock when you can.

  • Fantastic job on the scenery! No complaints here. Sounds terrific.

  • I like the layout! Tsunami sound's nice!

I like the Tsunami decoder over the stock MRC decoder anyday. I plan to switch all of my F-units over someday!

  • get a job...

  • SWEEEEEEEEEEEET ! A+

  • Best model rr video I've ever seen. The sound is excellent also. You had the correct single chime sound for the horn the unit was equipped with. Unlike other F7 videos I've watched on youtube, yours SOUNDS like a 567. Great job.
