INFO: In the wake of the 1992 Los Angeles riots, filmmakers Joachim and Tommy Sowards trained their lens on the volatile South Central L.A. neighborhood known as "The Twenties" in order to explore the lifestyle and motivations of the gang whose instantly-recognizable name has become synonymous with street violence: The Bloods. A violent, trigger-happy group whose penchant for drug dealing and drive bys has locked them into an eternal conflict with the equally-feared Crips, the Bloods are profiled by the Sowards brothers in a non-judgmental manner that allows their words and actions to speak for themselves. There's no preaching or moralizing to be found here, just straight forward truth. Filmed over the course of an entire decade, Slippin' watches as the body count rises and new inductees arrive to carry old grudges into the next generation, all the while exploring just how something as simple as colors - of both rags and skin - can lead to so much death and destruction

  • @illuminous09 You gota point but at the same time we all have our choices. People know it's wrong to gang bang and kill people and sell drugs. Yea it's easy money but it's wrong. Why not go to college and work hard to make it out the hood so you give your kids better. I have more respect for a man that does that than goes the other route. No excuses for shooting and hurting innocent good people.

  • @moneyman237952 Your comment shows something that most people never think about: subconscious emotional framing of issues. You instantly filled in about 10 blanks wrong. That's OK. Everybody does it. I grew up in a suburb and I've never shot a gun at anybody. Most gangmembers are scared kids who could be productive if they were given help. Some are psychopaths, though. That's true. Anyway, think before speaking, and don't judge. You're not god.

  • @tstruss912 i guess it's easier looking from the outside in but, i don't care of gang bangers kill themselves. good the world is better off what bothers me is when innocent people fall victim to gangs. you guys are cowards instead of being a man and facing eachother you'd rather shoot. bitches.

Ya, that's easy to say when you're not the one getting beat up every day, when you're not the one with no food in your stomach, the one with no father. People join gangs in order to survive. If society cared more about them going to school and becoming productive then we would take tax dollars and make it happen.
