Jeff Rouse is one of the greatest backstrokers of all time (3-time World Champion, 7-time NCAA Champion, former world record holder, and 1996 Olympic gold medalist). His favorite drill is Spin Drill. Take a look, try it for yourself, and youll understand why the Spin Drill rules.

  • How do you have your hands enter the water softly on this drill?

  • i am sorry but this looks funny as hell

  • The purpose of this drill is tempo. His head and shoulders are sitting high in the water because the focus here is arm speed. Be sure you don't do this drill for more than 12-15 yards, otherwise you risk injury.

  • your head has to be inline with your body

hands must enter the water softly

  • this kills your shoulders!! lol im still sore from last practice lol :P

  • lol youll get tired too fast ^^

the secret at this is stretching i little bit more in each stroke, less energy more forward motion.
