Juan Luna's Paintings

Juan Luna was a Filipino painter and a good brother to Gen. Antonio Luna. he was one of the early group of painters trained in Europe whose themes and style broke away from the conventions of religious painting in the Philippines.

A skilled realist, his famous "Spolarium" earned him the gold medal in the 1884 exposition in Spain. His achievement was celebrated by the Propagandists as a proof of how Filipino genius can stand to the talents of Europe.

This site is so fallacious!! Not only is Juan Luna NOT a mestizo; he was a dark indio...but the indicated soundtrack is NOT Andrea Boccelli "singing Sogno." Unless he turned himself castrati and now sings as a lyric soprano, thinking La Habanera is Sogno. Please fix your glaring inaccuracies!!
