  • Brilliant video, i like the comment on how you dont do what others do, if everyone copied everyone else, we wouldnt have new information xD

i did something simillar to this a few months ago; i melted the pitch down and passed it through a sieve (to remove all bark/dirt/crimated bugs) and let it set in small cake moulds around 4'' by 2''. now from 2 cans of dried sap, i have 3 boulions of pure pitch :)

    keep up the good work!

  • @EdSchneeebly Good idea brother!

  • @BraveTheWilds oh, and if u do do it, make sure to do it in a tin that isnt lined on the inside with plastic. the plastic has a lower melting point than the pitch, so will melt n mix in with the molten pitch

  • @BeldakSwordhand im sure you can

  • A neat thing to try.....take a piece of wood, make one side flat and carve out a fishing hook mold then pour in the sap. You will need to be careful when prying it out and making the eye of the hook but if all goes right it will be strong enough to catch very small fish.

  • I reckon It would be best to heat up the resin in another container and pour it into the tin

    nice idea

    George

  • good thinking

  • I always do that with tealight candles, and let it cook for 2 hours. After that you get a brown translucent substance called colophony.

  • Cool idea! I like the idea of a double boiler.

  • Sweet idea, thanks!
