Heres my quick review, overview, of RACE!DS, a Neo Geo Pocket/Color Emulator for the DS. Its very good for its released, I hope it gets worked on more, if you don't want to watch the video...I rated it 7/10.

Note: No sound, the camera I used did not have sound. The quality also sucks, I had a 5.0 MegaPixel camera, but it looked worse..Oh and, I know the video is excessivley long, its my first video with a camera, and first time editing a video. WMM would let me cut frames from clips, only delete ones it gave me. :(

  • I'm not 100% sure this version of the emulator saves, check the readme, if it doesn't mention anything it probably doesn't save.

  • @videogameobsession Oh man, looks like i'm gonna have to mess with my girlfriends PSP now. lol. ..and i do own an NGPC, but i have it more for a collectors item haven't touched it in about a year now. I was just thinking if i could have a bunch of emulators and nds games on just my R4 and DSi, i wouldn't have to worry about taking anything else anywhere. One stop shop kinda thing. Plus it being on the DS makes it backlit, so i gotta go for the PSP now if it's that much better. Thanks again.

  • @dirge808 Glad I could help, but playing NGPC games on the DS emulator is doing it a great injustice. If you want a newer portable emulated version of it I highly suggest Race on the PSP. It runs at full speed (on most games) and the sound is fully supported without skipping. It also supports save states and rewind. Worth picking up a used $50 PSP 1000 for imo. Or there is always the option of buying a NGPC. It's a nice piece of gaming history and has the best clicky pad on a portable! :)

  • @videogameobsession You are my hero..I changed the file names to ".ngp" and they finally got recognized by RACE!. An NGPC emulator for the DS has been my white whale for almost 2 months now. I wanted it only to play Faselei! (my favorite game on the ngpc) and it works...sort of....well it works ok..pretty slow...and i can't save which really sucks. I would put up with the slowdown and the slightly flicking screen if i could at least save. Regardless, thanks again.

  • @videogameobsession Never mind. I figured it out. ".NGP" This emulator is almost unplayable though.

It's too bad the author didn't continue work on it.

  • I'm using RACEDS_Fixed and it won't find the roms I have.

    They are located in roms/ngpc

I originally tried with zipped roms, but it didn't see them, so I unzipped them all and it still doesn't find anything. They are from the Goodset and named .NGP. I also tried renaming them .rom too.. no luck. :(

The emulator didn't have a readme.txt and I can't find info anywhere on this.

Please let me know if anyone has an idea. Thanks

  • @CliffordTrahanVEVO playing rhythm paradise with buttons xDDD or brain training xDDDDD impossilbe

  • @oraakkeli12 emulation lets you click it with a button and cursor jackass

  • @CliffordTrahanVEVO what about touch screen you dumbass

  • @oraakkeli12 The emulator displays to emulated screens as you can clearly see. They are stacked on top of each other making it look like one screen.

  • @CliffordTrahanVEVO I know it's emulator u bstrd but how you play ds games without dual screen? : )
