can't use gas the flashpoint is too high and will explode the stove or melt it .
we use alcohol for fuel .
rubbing alcohol will a 90% alcohol or better. or use denatured alcohol or mineral spirits (which is 90 to 100 % alcohol ) or use Heet (in the yellow bottle ) fuel line antifreeze which also has alcohol in it .
other than that their solid fuel stoves and wood stoves we use .

the water is to keep the alchohol from getting too hot an vaporizing, saw it in another vid.

Two things I noticed...
1. Will the wick(s) become brittle faster than the one(s) on the IsoFly becuase the ends are frayed (to deliver more heat)?
2. In the video, the flame appears yellower than the other MBD stoves ( could be my failing eyesight). Will it be "smuttier"?
Just some observations. Looks very cool, though.

Looks great! Couple questions though...do you really need the base with water in it? And how easy is the stove to take apart? I liked the last stove you posted a video of....what was wrong with it?
