This song of which I think is a nice representation of the Netherlands and its people, was thusfar only posted once with only english translation. I have done the translation myself and I attempted to get as close as possible to certain sayings in the song that do not have an official translation.

This song was originally made for a Dutch television commercial from a bank company, but the song became so popular the duo Fluitsma & van Tijn released the song as single, which made it to #1 position in Dutch charts.

I have to say - where are all the Turks and Muslims? I mean this looks nothing like any of the big cities in Holland. There's not a single mosque or woman in a burka. No guys some crack pipes at the stations either. Sort it out people!

@aerodynamicUK I agree with you but note this was originally intended as a commercial from a bank in 1996. It was only released as a single due to the popularity of the song. And we arent just dutch, turks, muslims, we are too many cultures to fit in such a small videoclip, and I believe that is what Hollands truly is, the sum of all the beautiful cultures and beliefs it harbours. :)

@Airethilien It's because of those beautiful cultures that our country is turning in 1 gigantic getto, and the original Dutch cultures are being forbidden and destroyed, and it's those beautiful cultures that cost over 7 billion euros every year.

How To Live In Holland For The Uninitiated.

They tell you they are tolerant, they make a 5 euro error on your energy bill, add 300 euro in fines for "late paying" of this error, threaten to cut off your gas and fine you for that as well, threaten to take you to court and pay for their lawyer also.

Solution: send them a detailed spreadsheet calculation showing they should actually pay you 10 euro and ask them to fix it, they get indignant and leave you alone.

De groepen van protest lijken welhaast dood

De stranden zijn tegenwoordig toch wat minder naakt, bovendien wordt vanuit Den haag geprobeerd het uniform wel weer heilig te maken, en betutteling bestaat weer sinds Balkenende.

Mensen laten zich inmiddels wel de wetten voorschrijven en gepropt in een keurslijf.

De verdraagzaamheid is ook ver te zoeken, net als armoe weer de kop op steekt.
