A good friend of mine sells MK, and she has invited me to their weekly meetings. The song and dance is VERY tempting, especially to someone without a job. I stumbled across Pink Truth last year and I could agree with most of what was said from an outsiders view. It can feel like a cult, and you can get sucked in. The women who love the product will defend it to no end. I take issue not only with the business aspect, but all of the chemicals they use in their products. It's ridiculous!

Christians should be on guard with MLM teaching. I was involved for 4 yrs and never heard anything close to... “Take care, & be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”Lk12:15 "Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have..."Heb13:5 "...I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content."Phil4:11 "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils...1Tim6:10

You would be surprised on how many people will spend $13.00 for a lipstick.Have you checked the ingredients in the lipstick you buy.Does the company do animal testing? Do they donate a portion to cancers?

they called me and said i won a free facial. what they didn't tell me is that EVERYONE who entered 'won'. its just trying to get more people into their little pyramid scheme

I WAS LIED TO BY MARY K REP SALES PERSON I GOT THE STARTER KIT AND WAS NOT TOLD HOW MUCH OF INVESTMENT WAS NEEDED! I AM SUPER PISSED!!!! I AM GOING TO CHECK OUT THIS PINK TRUTH WEBSITE!!!

Not everyone will buy a $13 lipstick. I can buy perfectly fine lipstick for $5 at a pharmacy. Not to mention when times got tough, the first thing that went was make up and skin care. I just can't justify expensive skin products when my kids need food, clothes, and shoes.

@mimi008 The director never should have done that for several reasons. If you know her name and the name of the consultant you can call the Mary Kay main office in Dallas TX and let them know what happened. We as Mary Kay consultants are not to steal others customers. Personally I don't want the Cadillac, I just want enough money to get me through college.

@mimi008 the opportunity is the REAL product in Mary Kay. Even Mary Kay Ash admitted it herself in her book, "Miracles Happen." The product isn't peanuts compared to the pipe dream this company shills to the unsuspecting. P I N K T R U T H . C O M
The reporter at the end says two key things: Don't risk your finances to join direct selling. That means don't quit your day job if you're doing fine!
Second, she says don't purchase more inventory than you can sell to your customers. If you are only going to work your direct sales business for 1 hour per week, isn't buying $50,000 in products "overkill"?
Aren't these just common sense?
