I wonder how prolific music writing can be. If the things that we feel building are able to manifest themselves just before the tension unleashes. The other night I had the first half of this song in my head, singing in circles around me. This morning, it was practically banging on the window trying to get in. I managed to keep it out until he was gone, but sometimes songs have a way of writing themselves. It's not an uplifting song. It's not a sad one. It's just realistic, honest--raw.

i watch the sky unfold its fabric
a crushing velvet ripples wide
between the flashes of its static
it shows a vulnerable side

I come experimenting tragic
And tie my feelings to a kite
I dont remember what I found there
Before the sting after the light

and as it dissipates around

*you hold your breath, you twitch your lip
*you reel it in and throw the switch
*you watch the sky, it shows you how
*to understand what you know now
nothing in the storm can stop the storm, it has to storm.
