You know I hate to bring this up, but our current President is pretty damn good at "speeches" too. Makes you wonder huh. American citizens fall for that shit so easily.

@Strand0410 That's what you got out of it, that he cared about the "greater good"? See to me that couldn't be further from the truth. All he cared about what saying the right things in order to make it to Annapolis, and that worked. He criiticized Royce for juking the stats, then he turned around and did the same thing when he ran. Further proves how all those politicians are the same. They care more about their personal status than actually getting things done.

@Strand0410 yeh an interesting point. He seems to embrace his greater political ambitions as a means for helping Baltimore, not as an end in itself. The show has only imbued me with cynicism tho - I assume he only keeps jumping through the hoops....

@FlakoFino23 Carcetti was actually one of the more likable characters for me. Sure he was ambitious, but he always did it for the greater good. He was willing to go higher to get more power to make greater change, but at the same time, everything was going to shit around him.
I wish they showed what happened when he became governor and lived up to his promise or he just continued as a stats-juking politician.

they sure as hell tricked me with this character ....I thought he would change things but at the end ended up caring for himself and juked the stats to his favor to run for governor ! ....yikes
