i,ve got a question, i have the same hd and it stopped working excatly like that o the video, i was thinking about replacing tbe citcuit board but i also noticed that there's a line marked around the spindle on the platter just under the arm reader, is that normal or should the platter have no visible mark close to the spindle??

@BackstrokeOfTheWest Me too. If I were into acrylics, this drive would be perfect for that. Makes me wonder, though, if the HDD gods will ever make an acrylic HDD case? I think that would be pretty awesome, even if you don't have an acrylic case. Thanks for the comment!

@vacationeruk If you have information that you absolutely cannot live without, then you'll need to look into data recovery options. If you can do without the information, then look into your warranty and see if it can be fixed.
