Dell Inspiron 1000 1gb ram upgrade, here i am upgrading my inspiron's ram from 256mb to 1.5gb. Many people have said it can't be done, but i have proved them wrong. See how much it can handle by me opening multiple application w/ some old school music :p Enjoy

her sir i have a question i tried upgrading my inspiron 1000 from the celeron to a pentium of the same speed as the celeron but the pentium runs at 1.2ghz can you plz tell how you get yours to work with a pentium 4 2.6ghz thanks in advance

i need some help, can someone tell me what would cause this inspiron 1000 to not get to the dell screen or to freeze on that screen most of the time, cause the cpu to run at 100 percent usage? when it is at 100, its sluggish as hell, im thinking its the processor but i dont know, and i cant get the housing off to try to see anything(the screws, hard drive and battery are taken out but the back of it where the ports are wont let go, i want to see if there is a loose connection.

Hey u guys can also upgrade the battery life like i do all the time when the battery starrts to lose power faster htan it does usually. F2 setup go to exit and itll say battery recalibration . Do that at least twice a month and ur battery life is good to go

I just added a 1 GB stick to my inspiron 1000 and it reads 1.18 GB and it runs alot faster. Thanks for the idea .
