  • It depends largely on your lautering capabilities and equipment. I use a single braided hose so fly sparging would create channeling and thereby greatly reduce efficiency. I have a false bottom but I've just never incorporated it. At the point that I finally get around to using that, I may look further into fly sparging.

  • your sparge method looks more like sparging on the fly, or "fly sparging".

  • Wouldn't this be considered Fly Sparging since you are continuously adding sparge water to the top of the grain bed and at the same time collecting wort from your MLT?

  • great video!! but one comment, when you started your sparge, you should have something to disperse the stream from you HLT so it doesn't create a tunnel through your grain bed. its fine since your batch sparging but just at that first collecting of wort could effect.

    other than that though awsome vids.
