PEANUT BOILING, A TRIBUTE TO J R ODUM

This video is a tribute to the memory of J. R. Odum, a peanut grower for many years in Sylvester, Georgia. In his latter years he operated a peanut and produce stand on the highway between Sylvester and Albany which became a destination stop for those who count themselves as experts on the art of boiling and enjoying boiled peanuts. This interview was featured on the Georgia Peanut Commission television show, First Saturday Peanut Update, in August of 1989. The interview was conducted by Jimmy Lee, host and producer of the show which aired on several TV stations 1985-1997. Mr. Odum passed away in 2008 but left his legacy of properly boiling peanuts for all to enjoy.
