The trailer uses some segments not in the full mini-documentary to be screened as part of the BTWSC and Akoben Awards end of projects event on Friday Sept. 18 2009, 7-9pm at The Space, Willesden Green Library Centre, NW10 2SF.
Love In The City (LITC) is a mini-documentary inspired by and made by young people in Brent who wanted to highlight the positives in their area, as they were tired about hearing the negatives, and anti-knife and gun crime initiatives. LITC was an inter-generational summer 2009 youth project for young people to engage with their peers and different generations to find out mostly positive things about leaving in their areas, and some history.
BTWSC was funded by the Fair Share/Big Lottery Fund via NWLCF, with a focus on the Church End, Craven Park and Roundwood areas of the borough. The young people learnt camera and video editing skills, and also built their confidence, as they had to interview adults, some of whom were strangers.
