@sonnyjims1 I am going to remove the unit and strip it on the bench... well I would if I could get the pin out of the rod.. 2 cans of WD40 !! still not moving.. Salt water is a killer.
Thanks for your ideas

@bayoulancom Yes. run motor up while adding fluid. You may need to have a helper manually lift up, but shouldn't. I you still have difficulty make sure there is no trash under the check valves in bottom of cylinder and they have some spring and are pliable. My seal kit did not have the checks, only seals. Also make sure the bypass screw is not emabled. If the bypass screw is out it diverts fluid and it must be in normally "in" closed position. your motor is coupled to pump correct? Best of luck.

Did you have to press the up button WHILE filling it? I bought the kit as well, but it seems no matter how much oil I put, it does't want to lift. Any tips?
Great video... was going to buy a new pump for my 60 VRO Didn't know it was self bleeding, I thought the pump had gone.
It costs a fortune keep getting parts sent over to England from the USA.
My tilt / trim creaks when it is used... Low oil ? Anybody got any ideas?

@sonnyjims1 if it "creaks" it may have corrosion/rough spots in cylinder wall and or piston seal "rings" damage. If the rings and bore are good the only ther thing I can think of is if there is trash under the check valves. The checks are in the bottom so any rust/debris would settle there. Last thought, the coupling between motor and pump impeller is goo? not work or slipping?
good luck.

I have the same problem on my Johsnon outboard but can't seem to get the pin that runs through the tilt rod off so I can remove the assembly...did you have any issues with this?

@1110Miami YES IT IS A PAIN IN THE ASS. Mine was frozen in place also. All attempts to drive it out or use a puller failed. I had to drill it hollow and finally use a ball joint press and some drifts to get it out. My advise is force it out with a ball joint press or drill it out and you will probably ruin it to get it out and buy or machine a new pin. Good luck.

@1110Miami glad to hear it. i am care full to wash after salt water use, but that pin is near impossible to remove. OMC gets A+ for great 2 cylinder 2 stoke engine, but pin on tilt and trim is a bad design. glad you had success. regards.
