  • 725 hp but went 12.5 in the 1/4? My 2001 Camaro does that and it put down 347 hp.... way to go Ford

  • @REDLINE25 yea all you have to do is spent a lil more on drag radials and it will be alot better. The only problem ford always seams to have is traction issues. But engine wise its always in top of chevy. Like the new 5.0 gt beats the 6.2 camaro what a shame for chevy

  • I think thos were all fair assessments, I'm a mustang guy myself but all of those car's could be tuned to tolerate 1,000+ BHP. Hennacy, Lenginfelter, even Shelby all have 1000 hp tune's for these vehicle's hell my budy's 03 Cobra made 1,615bhp with a Hellion Hell Raiser Compound boost set up and that's just a stock DOHC 281ci V8. LS7's have a bad rap for thin engin wall's though, so U'R shelf life with 800+ bhp isn't good for the ZO6. For the money the ZO6 is U'R best bet though, & I'm a mustang

    Running a shorter gear can sometimes be a downfall in a stock car, because sometimes you have to make a short shift at the end of the track, ruining your E.T.

    Look at the new Mustang 5.0, the Ford engineers spent a TON of time on the gearing, to make the 1/4 times faster than the Camaro's. The LS3 actually dynos at 470hp NOT 430, so the 5.0 is faster because of very careful gearing.

    My point is that just running a 4.10:1 for the hell of it, can be a mistake.
