A video concerning Mario's Grabs and Throws in Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

Mario has a very short grab range. To make up for this, be sure to take advantage of his shield and pivot grabs. Once you have your opponent grabs, pummel them once, maybe twice to sneak in a little damage before your throw. Do try to not use his dash grab however. Its bad to have short range, but its worse if you lag while doing it, being open for attack. -HeroMystic

Up Throw
This is probably Marios least used throw. Its best used to mix up your grab game and remain unpredictable.

Forward throw
On the stage use this move to switch for defensive play to offensive play. Use this throw if you want to throw your opponent off the edge. From there, use Marios gimping abilities.

Back Throw
This is pretty much a stronger version of Mario's Forward throw. Use the same techniques unless youre around 140% damage when you can use this as a kill move.

Down Throw
This is Mario's best throw. Use it to follow up in to an Up Tilt Lock or aerial combo at low percents.

  • hahahaha 00:31 I love how mario gets toon links boomarang in his face like:

mario: ha!! see I pivot grabed you!!!

toon link: *hits mario with the boomarang* see that?

  • @sonicschooler Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks!

  • @BISlover544 Yeah there is but for only a little percentage. Also some characters do more damage depending where you hit your rival. (example: marth. hit someone with the tip of his blade it does more damage than in the middle.)

  • @sonicschooler No, there is no defense in Brawl.

  • Whenever I do up throw -> aerial people always hit me with an aerial first ._.

  • Mario FWD THROW CAN BE A CG AT LOW PERCENTAGE
