I could have gotten a free one under warranty but I didn't know. Apple is very nice, I got my MacBook Air replaced for free to the new model top specs for free due to a hardware failure on my old one.

is the adapter fragile? the new white macbooks comes with an adapter similar to that ..

No it's not fragile. Unless you drop it a lot like I did. The new MacBooks have a much better one because it's newly designed.
