This is the true national anthem. It's not about bombs and war, it's about the true spirit of America.

This Land is your land
this land is my land
from California, to the New York Island
This Land is made for you and me

I roamed and rambled
and followed my footsteps
to the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
and all around me, a voice was chanting
this land is made for you and me

As I was walking that ribbon of highway
I saw above that endless skyway
I saw bellow me a golden valley
this land was made for you and me

In the shadow, of a great big steeple
by the relief office, I saw my people
as they stood hungry
I stood there asking
was this land made for you and me

  • nice. you got a nice low voice. harmonica playing is pretty sweet too.

  • @Sdeath34 i agree i think most people don't know about the last couple of verses. i wrote a song that was inspired by this one once i learned its full version. You can listen to it on my youtube page it's called God Bless America.

  • Nice job. Nice to see someone from my generation who still appreciates this fine music, written in the time when music served to do more than entertain, but to inform the public discourse. Nice to see you sing the last verse, which seems to be edited from most offical versions, returning the song to what it was supposed to be all along: not something hurrah-patriotic, but rather a soul-searching ballad about what America is and where it's going.

  • Dannie

That ribbon of highway stretches out before you.

You can always travel on the side of the sign that doesn't say nothin'.

The barrier builders will always try to charge admission. Since before ancient Egypt they used religion to get the will of the people on the side of the leaders.

This world was made for you and me.

  • fine job. one of the best songs ever written about our country for sure. keep jammin'. find the modern classics as well. i did an original called "leave it behind" under the name BETTER IN THEORY. check it out.

  • are you kidin?

  • What is that thing around your neck?

    Coolest thing ever.
