The grips are not metal in fact the gun is basically all plastic, it is the worst gun I own. My old Marksman 1010 can out shoot it in accuracy. The 1010 might be a weaker gun, but it hits the target. I bought this 201 out of curiosity. The gun is also too lite. It was the first Daisy I bought. It would have been the last because I bought the 617x which is quite fun to shoot. All my other airguns are Crosman :) I guess bottom line that this gun can get you out there shooting. (plinking of course)
