Jack Pescod and the Barcode Trio play an original Pescod composition at the Barbican in the London Jazz Festival 2009. Pier is a mesmerising, hypnotic tune with a strong melody that reflects the sea and Southwold Pier where the pianist Jack Pescod wrote the piece. Ben Cummings on trumpet gives the piece resonance and authority, with Sam Nadel and Jo Pettitt makiing a tight and sympathetic rhythm section as Jack Pescod shows sensitivity with the usual flourishes of brilliance.
