@manzalicous its to even . the clave is like a 12 and a 123 as a triplet. playing this in five four waould make the clave all even, and in one measure. you would need to demonstrate an example to show the diff

@DJTrancenergy itz not the time signiture they dnt get but the emphasis of the beat. in american music the emphasis is on the 1 and 3, or in up beat tunes, 2 and 4. But in latin the emphaisi is on the clave.

@DJTrancenergy i dont see why they couldnt play in five. i thought most latin music followed the 12 123 or 123 12 feel. i dont think five four is that much of a stretch. its interesting how they did it either way i suppose.
