@7777dmith7777 We metal detectorists pull all kinds of dirty coins from the ground. In order to bring them back to the bank or use them in vending machines we have to clean them first.

@b11v51q68y This is a Thumler A R12. It is a 12 pound rated machine. You can see and hear it in action on my website School Of Hard Rocks or look for my video of the A R12 on YouTube.

G;day mate, Cool barrel! Noted you use plexiglass, Have you tried glass?? Just wondering how it would hold up compared to the plexiglass..... Still going on mine, Bit of a monster but only want to do it once;)

Glass would probably work fine. I haven't seen any evidence of the rocks bashing the end plate - just sliding along it. I have stayed with plexiglass (or Lexan) as it is easy for me to saw a circle and file and sand the edge smooth. This barrel seals by compressing the rubber mouth around the lid. If I could cut a circle from glass with just the right diameter and then sand it or somehow eliminate any sharp edges, I would give it a try.

g3yye,
Where did you get the clear lid for your Tumbler? Where can I get clear lids for my A-R2?

I make clear lids from plexiglass. I have used plexiglass from old picture frames or purchased from the hardware store. Cut it round. Smooth the edge with a file. It may cloud a bit during the rough grind, but it smooths as the grits get finer and polishes crystal clear as you move to final polishing. Good luck. Please let me know how it works for you.
