"Herb Alpert's own haunting tone poem "JERUSALEM"
This instrumental composition by Herb Alpert
(circa 1971) was included in the LP
SUMMERTIME. Lyrics to this melody are not
known to me, nor am I aware of a vocal
version. It would be great if famous lyricists like Alan and Marilyn Bergman,
Norman Gimbel, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon. Leonard Cohen,
and others could provide moving lyrics to this melody.

BEIT ALPERT- JERUSALEM
The Alpert Music Center
"Herb Alpert, in 1979, with brother Dave and sister Mimi, established the Louis and Tillie Alpert Youth Music Center across the valley from the Jerusalem Cinematheque, the practical realization of a plan originated by then mayor of Jerusalem Teddy Kolleck to establish a joint Arab-Jewish cultural institution for music appreciation and education. Six years earlier, Kolleck had initiated the establishment of an Arab-Jewish orchestra - a unique attempt to bring together children of both nations, through the love and sounds of music."

MENORAH (ARCH OF TITUS, Rome)
*The Arch of Titus provides the only contemporary depiction of sacred articles from the Temple in Jerusalem. The menorah and trumpets are clearly depicted, as well as what might be the Table of Showbread.

Due to the depiction of the destruction of Jerusalem and the desecration of the Temple, many Jews refuse to walk underneath the arch to this very day. A notable exception occurred in 1948 at the founding of Israel, when a large contingent from the Roman Jewish community walked through the arch in the opposite direction from the original Ancient Roman triumphal march.

The Arch of Titus is a Pentelic marble triumphal arch with a single arched opening, located on the Via Sacra just to the south-east of the Forum in Rome. It was constructed by the emperor Domitian shortly after the death of his older brother Titus (born AD 41, emperor 79-81), commemorating the capture and sack of Jerusalem in 70, which effectively terminated the Jewish War begun in 66 (although the Romans did not achieve complete victory until the fall of Masada in 73

Coat of arms of Israel.

The depiction of the menorah (seven-branched lampstand) from the Temple in Jerusalem on the arch was used for coat of arms of Israel .

BAR MITZVAH at Kotel (Wailing Wall):
¨Emmanuel Wiener celebrates his Bar-Mitzvah at the Kotel (2001).

  • @lawnmowermanTX Jerusalem IS the Apply of G-d's eye, and no matter what non-Jews, haters, and losers may say.. G-d said this best.. "I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you.." A Sincere Warning to those who trifle, and belittle G-d's chosen people. L'Shem Mitzvot Torah, Amein. :)

  • For all the trials and tests, Jews face each and every day, Hashem will avenge his Children, Moshiach (Not to be confused with jeezer of NAZI-reth) will restore Israel. Hashem WON'T break His promise, because G-d/Hashem is not a 'man' that can promise falsely and change. G-d / Hashem IS Eternal, Hashem made his Eternal Promise to Israel, and that is what is yet to come. Fulfillment when Hashem wills IT, it WILL Happen. Deo Vindice! G-d Will Vindicate! :)
