In this introduction to huckfinn22's news and politics channel, Huck exposes the big lies Republicans use in their attempts to end Social Security and Medicare. These essential programs are not bankrupting America, Republican tax and pro-corporate policies are. Huck details how Social Security and Medicare should be run and can be saved.

Views and opinions in this video are not intended to offend, but rather awaken Republicans and the more than 20 percent of the undecided or uncommitted voters who generally decide all national elections.

Thanks so much for watching! Comments and video responses welcomed.

Hey Huck, is there any way I could get a citation for your percentage figures in 1:34? I'm still trying to get a grasp on economics, and the closest I can find with Googlefu is that half of working Americans made approx. 30000 in 2009 via Social Security, and a survey in Dec. 2011 showed that 56% of American workers have less than $25000 in savings.

Glad you asked. The info comes from Edward Wolff's study published by the Levy Institute ( levyinstitute org). Wolff is Professor of Economics at New York University. Among his findings: 30% of working adults age 25 and older earn under $15,000 annually; 47% earn under $25,000. 94% of all wealth generated in last 21 years went to the top 20 %. 42% of all wealth generated, to the top 1%. Bottom 80% shared just 6 percent of the wealth.

good video, lots of important info, although I dont get why you called Dr. Paul a nut when you were agreeing with most of his ideas (unless it was sarcasm and I just missed it?)

He is a nut. His plan to dimantle Medicare and Social Security is libertarian nonsense and a disaster for America. You mistook sarcasm for agreement. Don't get me started on his other awful domestic policies, like his pro-polluter agenda allowing energy companies and other industries to do whatever they damn well please without any EPA to test, monitor and take them to court. Homeowners must pay out of pocket togather evidence and take Exxon and its lawyers to court for poisoning their property.

If the Government can kill off enough people with their Vaccination program they won't have to care about medicare or future burdensome retirement benefits and social security. I can hear Bill Gates singing with Joy at the prospect of Millions upon Millions of Americans being erased from the books so he and is co-conspirators have more room on the freeways..

Yes he is so crazy, he doesnt want the government to force you to pool in money into an unsustainable system. maybe you should do some research into the arguments socialized health care, and other entitlements instead of just bashing it using that word "nut" that you probably use because cnn or msnbc tells you to use it. I suppose you probably let the media tell you he is a racist to. wake up!

AWESOME Huck,Thx for bringing the details.RonPaul is a"Pied Piper",deceptively trying to lure in young voters, because their parents still have yet to pay.GOP places R.P.out there as a progressive cheerleader hoax. 3dimensional chess is of course played with sacrificial pawns, and cloaked doubleagents(ex.:Harry Reid)Also,Rand Paul is a direct reflection of the real Dr.Paul. IMHO,3rd parties unification under the JusticeParty could finally start to build a base of St.Rep.&Congressmen for 2014&2016

Yep Ron Paul, libertarians, along with archaist all believe in their own utopia. That the average person has a chance again those who have consolidate wealth & power. Often Paul often states his study of economics as positive, I believe he needs to study world history as well

Whwn if all medical & retirement saving are privatized what happens if workers keep a sizable portion of their earnings as cash & sit on it With all the deregulation&hesitancy to place new regulations to address now schemes created by the financial sector holding cash or metals may be the smart move. THAT probably be declared illegal because it would deprive the finical sector of working capital. I m sure the financial sector can survive if all it had to work with is the capital they own

FDR intended SS to be safety net expecting American to Provide for their retirement by other mean Hundreds of Americans did by working at jobs that had retirement benefits, along with workers having private savings. The paradox is that those workers are part of the problem They where convinced policy that befitted large investors benefited the smaller investor equally So now we have retired & current workers voting against ther own self interests.
