Its time for salt water therapy and wave therapy and even some vitamin D. May is our favorite beach month here; the water is warm, the humidity is still low, the breeze is just gentle and the snowbirds are gone. But I won't go in the water before or after lifeguard hours. I like that false sense of security that they are watching out for sharks. We don't go out very far but big Bull sharks do like shallow water. Its very common to see fishermen out on the Venice Pier trying to get sharks and rays off their hooks so they can catch fish! But we do get to see dolphins and manatees, too. And Venice beaches are known for sharks' teeth that wash up. You won't find too many at the downtown beach at the end of Main Street but there are lots at the south Venice beaches, especially Casperson, the beach with the huge rocks. There is an older guy that hangs around there on weekends and will gladly show you his collection of prehistoric hand-sized teeth, no exaggeration. He claims to have found them himself, but not by strolling along the beach. He dredges for them a mile or so out and will sell you one -- for a few hundred dollars!
I like your film, were you using a tripod, otherwise you have a very steady hand! I've only been to Venice Beach once but thought it was lovely.
