  • @kejotikyuri1986 croations and bosnians DO not pretend to be italian and do not wish to be italian. You sir have to idea what you are talking about. In europe in general italians are looked down on not only because they are short people but for many unattractive traits they tend to posses.

    Unfortunately, there are many people who pretend and want to be Italians back there, but they even get mocked by the real Italians themselves, so it is sad to hear something like that...

  • Well, Italy did the same things to Slavic culture in the 1920ies. Guess you shouldn't have started a war you never had a chance to win.

    In any case, Istra belongs to Croatia. So suck it up.

  • A metà degli anni cinquanta, quando lultima ondata dellesodo fu completata, lIstria aveva perduto metà della sua popolazione e gran parte della sua identità sociale e culturale. Come in altri casi di pulizia etnica, eliminato il "problema italiano", le nuove autorità slave provvidero a cancellare anche la memoria della presenza italiana in Istria: i monumenti furono abbattuti, le tombe divelte dai cimiteri, la toponomastica cambiata.   • Durante e subito dopo la seconda guerra mondiale un gran numero di italiani fu soppresso dai partigiani titini. Sulla quantificazione delle vittime (fra le 4.500 e le 17.000 secondo le stime più attendibili) vi sono tuttora aspri dibattiti.
