Executive coach Saskia Teppema will share the story of four elemental aspects of successful leadership and why they are important for building a sustainable future. Using a personal story to bring these concepts to life, Saskia introduces us to a character who helps us to understand how we can apply these ideas in our own lives.

About TEDx:
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxUtrechtUniversity, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxUtrechtUniversity event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

  • I liked this analogies. Also the 4 elements are necessary at differing degrees across the cycle of our growth of life.

  • Like the metaphor! And doesn't organisation imply something which is alive and has to be cared for instead of managed? A good example for how you can bring leadership to a higher level and to a sustainable stakeholders value.

  • Having been raised in California's agriculturally rich Central Valley, I thoroughly appreciate Ms. Teppema's key points linking sustainability in the worlds of organic farming and effective leadership. Her talk provides excellent food for thought, a challenge to action as well as touching humor. Thank you!
