To go with some of the 1977 footage that has been uploaded by me and TullTapes recently, this is some pretty rare & nice footage from the early part of the tour.(Songs from the Wood)
The full recorded bit is about 24 mins (with time corrections, etc.), I had to cut it down due to Youtube's 10 min policy.
Audio is Manchester, UK 2.5.1977.
Tulletti Projects 2009.
Enjoy!

  • What's the first song at the start of the video? I can't get enough of it!

  • @bobfree66

It's called 'to cry you a song' off of thier 1970 ablum 'Benefit.'

I would perfer the live one from mid-70s (75-77) personaly beacuse it is condesed to a better time AND is a medly with a new day yesterday (likein this 8mm cliip).

    Thanks! UW2

  • Hmmm.

It's so rare to see any home 8mm footage coming out of the U.K.

    Nick has done it again.

    Hooooorrrahhhh.

  • Yes Paul,

Its pretty rare getting anything from these days.

I like the medly they did from late 1975-1977 of Cry You A Song/A New Day Yesterday.

I guess getting footage of it is quite rare too considering they only did for a small amount of time.

Do you have a copy of the Manchester, UK SOUNDBOARD recording from 1977?

I used it for this video, I think it was just recently uncovered as well.

I could make you a copy if you'd like.

    Thanks for watching, Paul! UW2

  • this song is a perfect example how they were so much faster, heavier and intense live..

  • Thanks for this underwraps2.

Can anyone remember who the support artist was? It was billed, I believe, as Leo Kottke the US acoustic guitarist but he may have been replaced?

  • Crikey I was there, and my lasting memory was "Locomotive Breath" it was LOUD

  • Fabulous footage, I used to go to lots of gigs at the Apollo, great to see the Tull here, thanks a lot for uploading.

  • My second ever Gig, first Tull and first Glasgow Apollo

  • Amazing. This was my first live gig. Great to see this!
