The Greens were the only political party to let their members decide the party's position on the Lisbon Treaty. As a Green Party member who attended the debate, I can vouch for the fact that the decision was made in a truly democratic way with a constructive and honest debate where members listened to and respected each others opinions.

Dan Boyle dont want senate closed because then he will have no political role as he is not capable of being elected!

Shucks, now we have to think of a new name for a real Green party (which by now will have plenty of ex-greens onboard)... anyone for the 'One Planet One People' party?? No, I guess it doesn't really roll off the tongue. There's nobody left to vote for now in Irish politics, I don't suppose that was their plan all along?
