AFRICAN DRUMMING AND DANCE (www.one-drum.org) One-drum is a collaborative ensemble of artists and teachers from diverse backgrounds, committed to create inclusive engaging work that uses cultural expression as a catalyst to change perception. Abass Nii Dodoo was born in Nsawam, one of the villages in Ghana. I was born into a family of well known Royal drummers. At the age of 6yrs, I was inspired by my grandmother Abiba Okailey Ablah the mother of the Ghanaian famous master drummer, Mustapha Tettey Addy as she always tried to teach me the drumming by singing the rhythms. I was then trained on the drums by my uncle, Mustapha Tettey Addy.
