Also about Scritti, If you watch old interviews of Green, you'll see he's very opiniated. Add that to the fact that he's a giant -though a very skinny one then- and you think you have a strong guy.Yet he had lots of health problems- anxiety, stage fright- that led to his FIRST heart attack at age 23!
Giving shows + touring is the way to fame.Scritti couldn't do that despite excellent album sales. So Madness was more famous, hence their cover of SG scoring higher in the charts than the original.

Was a teen in early 80s & loved tons of bands -still do. Scritti Politti was one of my top fave -still is! Don't think any cover of the Sweetest Girl can beat the original and by far! The original is a 100 times better. Go ask any Scritti fan, many are angry about Madness' cover.
But I'm different, and although far from being as good as the original, Madness did a suberb job! I luv their version! Still I suggest u all go check Scritti's original even if it's still lacking a video (wtf??!!)!!
