This is an event organized with the intention of passing on the wisdom of the Sufi masters to the new generation. In the Khatam we also ask Allah to keep us on the path of the great masters. The life and works of a great Sufi master is the subject of the event.
The program is mainly presented in English since the target audience is the young people. The program starts with the recitation of the Quran. Nasheeds are then read in praise of the prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). The make up of the program material is based on Waqias (Stories) from the life of the Shaykh and their significance in todays world. Usually we try to emulate the Sufi style of explanation which applies the right dosage of humour and sincerity. To change the voice, stories are narrated by different people from the gathering, mainly the young generation.
The program is then concluded with a talk by Sufi Muzamil Khan who is the president and resident dervish of Noor-ul-islam Mosque. The talk is in English and is seen as the highlight of the event by the youngsters who are greatly amused and awed by the open style of the talk, contrary to the highly sophisticated and often confusing talks of the Ulema.
The programme comes to an end with congregational Salawat and Dua.
Finally all guests are served food with traditional muslim hospitality.
thank you
