  • @ilabstudios Also for both Phone 7 and iOS they have to be accepted to be put into the marketplace but Microsoft's restrictions are a lot easier. Basically it's no pornography for Microsoft. For Apple it's not that simple. On Phone 7 apps will cost less but there might be less free apps. Not a lot less because a developer can still post 5 free apps on the marketplace.

  • @ilabstudios The reason prices were so high for 6.5 was because development costs were high. They're lowering them considerably for Phone 7 though. For example to develop for iOS you need the SDK which costs 99$ yearly. On Mobile 6.5 you pay 99$ yearly for the SDK and you can post up to 5 applications on the marketplace for free after that it is 99$ per. For 7 it is 99$ and you can post unlimited paid apps and 5 free apps. After that it costs 20$ per app(that is free) to be posted on marketplace

  • @Masterchief2400, I think that's because Microsoft aren't really paying attention to the Marketplace in 6.5 and instead focusing on Phone7. The prices are high because they've allowed too much freedom in the marketplace for any developer to charge what they like, unlike iPhone platform where it's highly monitored and controlled. If not, then the prices are high simply because not enough people are using the platform, when more do the prices will go down.

  • I heared apps were really expensive. At least they currently are on Windows Mobile 6.5
