  • Hey!

From 1:55 are you just hammering and pulling off or are you picking as well?

coz i can play the minor pentatonic decently but am nowhere close to the speed that you just demonstrated...

  • yep, its mostly hammer-ons and pull-offs but sometimes pluck the strings with the pick probably twice as much as I should. This give the runs a 'shred' feel. But for the most part, yes, lots of pulloffs and hammer-ons.

  • Nice video....

I was just curious about something

why do you move your mouth when you play fast hahaha

  • haha. I never noticed that before!

  • Thanks!

Shred - a guitar playing style where technical proficiency is used to maximize speed, often in a neoclassical framework. Beginning in the 1980s, shred guitar began to appear in a heavy metal sub-genre known as neo-classical metal, since it often involved phrases and techniques reminiscent of Classical music.

  • Very good, and i like the way you teach.

Perhaps you can come up with a few runs that people like me who already know the scale can use to impress our friends ;)) ??

I know i would really appreciate that, and i bet there are others it would help as well

  • it's well known among us older guys, if you can sing it you can play it, weird as it sounds, i've discovered i use my tongue as metronome when playing fast ha.
