This is the 50.72 knot 500m run I broke the South African record with.
I had a slow start of 47 knots and only went above 50 knots after 100m, then I hovered between 51 and 53 knots for the remainder of the run.
I made several mistakes, so there's plenty room for improvement; for instance, I had my kite too high, and I let the leeward sand bank play on my mind too much.
I'm very pleased to have entered the 50 knot club; breaking the SA record was an unexpected bonus.
