@mistersmith6000 the six cylinder B-Series only smoked if you massively neglected it. The only possible reason is scraper ring wear which occurs only due to wanton neglect. Your joke actually originates in Bavaria, where the BMW 3,0 S was said to come as standard with a "Blue Flag" (blaue Fahne) - like Bavaria itself. This was because the valveguides of the OHC design would wear out quickly whether you serviced the car or not, thus allowing oil into the hemiheads. Right joke, wrong car.
Ha..the 'Blue streak' engine. We used to laugh in 80s at these old things lumbering along with a blue streak coming out of the exhaust pipe from the burning oil!!
And space?? These cars were always cramped for such heavy cars. Head room was good though.
gread advert! BTW, do you happen to have seen the Morris/Austin 1800 advert, i think it was on TV as well as the cinema, the clip shows a morris or austin 1800 driving over heaps of railway sleepers to show how well the hydrolastic suspension worked

Great to see this old advert!
The car has NSW number plates and the fiming was probably done in Sydney where BMC had their Australian HQ and factory.(Zetland)
BMC were much more successful selling 4 cylinder cars such as the Mini in Australia
