Smart TV and connected TV was a big theme at this year's CES in Las Vegas. Both LG and Samsung announced their smart TVs, that act a bit like a smartphone - letting you download apps and browse the internet. Here's our first look video at Samsung's offering.

UE40D8000, thumbs up: impressive design, panel looks smaller than expected but the very slim bezel is deceiving (in a dark room picture is like floating!). Impressive picture quality. Great pair of 3D glasses ---thumbs down: Good speakers but needs better. Browser is basic and not a full one as Samsung advertises. Sound comes out from the TV's speakers only from some streaming media (insist on testing this at the store). Browsing is pain - no QWERTY remote is included in this model.

@240sxser Are you kidding? LG's Google Smart TV is waaaaaay better. Samsung needs to fix some of their apps. Its a llot like their cell phone where hidden apps keep installing automatically causing overall slowdown. Major flaw.
