The host is Ralph Emery, a legend in Nashville. Leo Kottke mentioned Reid Whitelaw but mistakenly credited him with "Yummy Yummy", a record by the Ohio Express. Reid actually wrote "Goody Goody Gumdrops" for the 1910 Fruitgum Company; same time period and some of the same people involved.

Ralph never heard of Yummy Yummy? I mean, a 60-year-old born in 1980 is a sad state of affairs. Unless it's 2040, which it won't be for a while.

One of the most brilliant guitarists of all time interviewed by one of the most inept radio and tv interviewers of all time. Ralph was dumber than a box of rocks, and probably never heard of Leo until that day.

I watched this show faithfully in the late 80s. Ralph Emery featured many great musicians including Mark O'Connor, New Grass Revival, Les Paul, Tony Trischka, Edgar Meyer, among others. Too bad he was replaced by those bimbos Crook & Chase.
