I was in the Peace Corps in Playa Guanico Abajo, east of Cambutal and west of Playa Venado (Venao). I learned to surf while I was there on a 7' gun I bought with a month's Peace Corps wages...

This place has a smaller swell window than I thought. When we were there I know that Mexico swell was more than double overhead and ours was much much smaller. Also the winds are not strong, but are not predominantly offshore. But I recommend it overall.
