Conne Island (part 1 of 2)

A documentary about Conne Island based in the Connewitz neighborhood in Leipzig, Germany. Conne Island can be described as club, cultural center, concert hall, and a venue for political discussion.

As a premiere location for concerts in the city since 1991, the venue attracts very diverse crowds on a regular basis. The organizing members of Conne Island encourage the diversity in music and ideas and encourage tolerance among an atmosphere open to differing political ideas.

This documentary was produced in East Germany during the summer of 2010 at the Ohio Leipzig European Center.
