that season, I quickly realised that skiing is ACTUALLY snowboarding times two .

by the end of my first ski season, I would edge carving while skiing backwards, only uphill ski in the snow each turn

1 foot stopping + speed controll

sliding into, and out of "backwards" using only that one uphill edge + as well as all in one motion, on one ski ( the same as "falling leaf" technique for snowboarding . . )

2 snowboards are more fun than one! my skis are center mounted

  • @actionjoejoe why does this series of videos are named as "ski like a pro" ???? the basics you can find them everywhere on youtube, you need to put them on practice before even thinking of trying these moves, if not you can injure yourself. This is good for more intermediate advanced skiers, read this well, i work on a ski facility in Argentina Ushuaia.

  • @Lipschitz666 skiing is much more technical than snowboarding, but not everyone learns the same way, i learned almost all the basics by myself, but getting faster and going on a dangerous downhill with the skiis requiers technique

  • yeah this shit made no sense to me a couple days ago when i would do the "stem" turning. basically where you do pizza and then take one foot off and then you are turning. now, i can ski using only my uphill ski at a time (complete opposite of stem)

today i experimented hopping from ski to ski as i practiced sliding on only my uphill ski.

    Skiing is awesome.

how many other converted snowboarders are watching this???

  • ok, these are all nice vids but how is this supposed to teach anyone who doesn't know the moves?!? no talking about knees, position etc. nice to study if you know these things yourself, but I really doubt people who don't will find it any easier after watching these videos...

  • Great if you're skiing on relatively flat, even snow, but otherwise this can be dangerous.
