UNDP immediately responded to the crisis caused by the armed conflict between Georgia and Russia in August 2008 with 4,4 million Euro from European Union and 1,2 million dollars of UNDP internal funds. UNDP works to repair damaged infrastructure, provide re-training and short term employment to those left jobless by the conflict, and to assist displaced in starting up agriculture business

  • Sounds like the EU, since they want their own army it will only be a matter of time before they bully countries that want to be independent, democractic and successful.

    This conflict was started not in august 2008, It started 20 years ago and Russia as "Peace Keeper" did his dirty job. Russia is against Georgia because Georgia tries to be independent, democratic and successful country. Russia announces Georgia is under their exclusively geopolitical interests and now you can see their policys results!

  • well, it might be true that Georgia started it, however, Russia occupied those to regions for years. What would you do if somebody takes two parts of your country.
