wow, you're one of those people that HAS to have a radio blasting away every where they go.
I bet you're in the building(construction) trade right?

the same heat deflector you used on the fire box is done easier and more effectively with a .75 cent peice of ceramic tile just leaned against it. It also helps to lay 3 square feet along the bottom of the cook box, and cut three in half to line the sides. about $5.50 including tax.

I liked the mods you did. I might suggest getting a brick or two and wrap 'em in tin foil to put under your small grill that the charcoal rest on. I've found that raises your charcoal just the right amount to go into the main chamber and keeps air fueling the charcoal so it won't smother itself. Too, I like to line the bottom of the smoker and the firebox with a heavy-duty foil and that goes a long way to being easier to clean-up things (meat drippings, etc.) Just some thoughts......

That smoker is a piece of sh!t I just gave mine away Its way to thin leaks way to bad Save up or find an old thick steal smoker

your cookie sheet idea is pretty stupid looking also, take that shit out, put a loaf pan full of water on the grate, so that the heat that tends to want to go straight up, once out of the firebox, is forced to distribute more evenly... Also, moving the smoke stack to the bottom, will ruin the air flow, it will be so low that cold air will be sucking in, not hot air natural escaping, heat rises thus escaping, thus sucking oxygen into the fire box... thus creating a clean burning fire.

why the hell would you use a chimney starter and lighter fluid? throw that shit away and use 3 pieces of newspaper, rolled up, then made into rings, put them in the bottom of the chimney starter, light that shit and your good... you don't use lighter fluid, EVER! lol

radio fail

The cookie sheet only keeps heat an extra fe inches before it goes upward. Try to bend a metal the length of the smoker with either a decent gap around the edes or drill one inch holes every couple inches. I flipped my catch pan upside down to achieve this, the made a custom heat shield later. You can keep the temp within 10-15 degrees on left and right gaues this way. Right now yours reads about 40-50 degrees different , right?

Nice motorcycle, do you get much riding in?

Playing Planet Caravan while doing the video! AWESOME
Updates are coming soon; I want to take out the trash just so I can walk by and smell the goodness this smoker has produced as I pass by. I smell it and get hungry, I can describe the smell and it will make you hungry. Open my fridge and you will have found heaven, for your olfactory senses at the very least. Please keep the comments coming. I know the music is loud. Pick something else to say

good job! I have the exact type of smoker, and dont worry about the radio, hell i just wished i could have heard the song better than what i did, although i think your rocks need mowed j/k enjoy your smoker, going to modify mine now. thanks again

@jrdanks You are right about the rocks. But I had to mow the excess ash from the smoker due to dumping it so close to the fire box. One mod not shown is the ash scoop I made to fit in the bottom of the fire box. long slow burns still need air flow so the ash has to be discarded at some point to maintain the heat. Problem is it makes cement if not dealt with early. Maybe I'll get a bucket for it. What song did I cut out?

hey mate , nice job on improving your smoker . when your video clip start showing where your outside it looks and sounds like you have compressed water steaming out of pipes at your verander to keep you cool outside , im i right ??? if so can you please post a video on how you achieved that cause ive only seen it a few time and cant work it out . thanks

admd2143 They were just misters I bought at Home Depot. PVC T fittings that hold small brass fittings with pin holes (for the small T part). I got some 1/2 inch pvc to create spacing and a down spout to hook to my garden hose. It was 112 degrees out that day.

@admd2143 You may have seen in the video the loud fan also had a flexible mister system hooked to it (not on at the time) that does the same thing. Total cost for the two about $40 bucks (includes paint to hide/match the PVC to the house). Still want a picture or video? Let me know.
