RedWormComposting.com Presents...the 'Turbo Light Harvesting Method' - my method of separating composting worms from vermicompost. This approach is much faster and easier than the traditional 'light harvesting method'.

  • your voice makes my frog croak everytime i play your video !!! lol. seriously !!

  • @patton223 - I have that effect on frogs! ;-) lol

  • Got my worms and they are set up and happy with a carrot and bok choy "smoothie". Thanks, B!

  • @aquaganda - Awsome! Have fun :-)

  • Had a nice harvest recently, built a screen 30x30 2x4s with 1/4" hardware cloth. Screened the castings into a nice consistentcy, ?-how much castings to you apply to a given plant and how much do castings sell per pound on average?

  • @sandworm3 - pricing can be all over the map, so I'm not really sure about that one. As for how much, if it is really nicely processed vermicompost, with a high percentage of castings, you really don't need all that much. A scoopful or two down in the bottom of a planting hold is great. I tend to be a bit more liberal with coarser vermicompost mixes.

  • @GulfCoastGirl5 who FORCED you to watch it?

  • OMFG.... get to the point! This video could have been in 3 minutes if you hadn't rambled on and on and on.

  • OMG Bentley, pick it up!!

A good informative 3 minute video - stretched to 9 min. Viewers do yourself a favour and skip the first 3 minutes, the next three are useful. Looks like a useful method.

  • Thanks! I've done it the hard way... spread out on a tarp on my hands and knees. I use stacked bins, so my bottom bin is usually fairly worm free.

  • could I just dump some fishing bait worms into my outdoor compost pile? I usually let is sit for a year, turn it over just every few weeks.

  • JUST SKIP TO 5:32

  • FAR OUT YOUTAKE FOREVER TO GET TO THE FREAKIN POINT !

  • Have you ever composted rabbit manure? If so any tips? thanks for the vids
